Britain’s former champion Gordon Reid beat Japan’s world number one Shingo Kunieda to reach the semi-finals of the men’s wheelchair event at Wimbledon.
Reid, the 2016 winner, came back to win 1-6 6-2 6-3 and set up a meeting with defending champion Gustavo Fernandez.
However, British second seed and French Open champion Alfie Hewett, 23, lost to Belgium’s Australian Open winner Joachim Gerard 7-5 3-6 6-3.
In the women’s draw, Jordanne Whiley beat defending champion Aniek van Koot.
The British world number four produced a superb performance to beat the Dutch player 6-2 6-0.
Whiley, the 2015 US Open winner, will face Dutch top seed Diede de Groot in the last four following her 6-4 6-1 victory over Briton Lucy Shuker.
Meanwhile, Andy Lapthorne, quad wheelchair singles finalist in 2019, lost in three sets to US Open champion Sam Schroder.
Reid, who overcame Argentine defending champion Fernandez in the final of Queen’s last month, recovered impressively after losing the opening set with a double break to claim the second.
The 29-year-old Paralympic champion then made the decisive breakthrough in the eighth game of the deciding set before serving out the match after two hours and eight minutes.
Reid’s doubles partner and five-time Grand Slam champion Hewett, who won two silver medals aged 18 at the Rio Paralympics in 2016, is targeting two gold medals at the Tokyo Games this year.
The Briton responded to losing the opening set against two-time semi-finalist Gerard, however an early break in the decider was enough for the Belgian to set up a semi-final against France’s Stephane Houdet.
