Amanda Anisimova has tested positive for Covid-19. The American informed the world on Friday, when she commented on her own Instagram post, confirming that her positive test was the reason she was a last-second withdrawal from this week’s WTA 500 event in Abu Dhabi. The news was confirmed by Tennis Channel and Reuters.

The 19-year-old American, ranked 30, is expected to take place in next month’s Australian Open, but she’ll have to produce a positive Covid-19 test to do so.
Clearly she is raring to go.
